People who know about the HTF fandom know what this is about. They are familiar with just how many HTF OCs have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome(PTSD).

To put it short: About 75% of all HTF fan characters either have flipped out at some point or have/ have had PTSD. Mainly because ONE character in the show has PTSD! I guess that means everyone should have it, right?! Seriously the #1 reason a character is given PTSD in the HTF fandom is so they can be paired up with Flippy who is the ONLY HTF character in the show with PTSD! It makes NO sense and is waaay too cliche! I also hate how almost ALL of the mary-sue versions of Flippy have been in the army with Flippy and flip out almost exactly like he does. . . then again they ARE mary-sues of Flippy, but still. :iconfacepalmplz:

There ARE different kinds of PTSD, hell, I don't even think the way they portrayed Flippy's PTSD is correct, it's a cartoon, it's inaccurate. I know a lot of people think adding PTSD to a character paired up with Flippy will make the pairing more 'interesting', but honestly, if I've seen one Flippy-sue, I've seen a dozen of them. And adding PTSD to the characters purely because you think it's "cool" is a piss poor reason to do it. Seriously, these things are good for character development, not for any of your bland personality-lacking mary-sues.

Add some variety, give a good reason for them to have PTSD, don't just shove it down people's throats and be all like "She flips out just liek flippah does and waz in the army just liek he waz!"

Oh yeah, and here's another thing that makes NO sense! Giving Flippy's kids PTSD! It's NOT genetic people! They aren't going to flip out as babies, PTSD is NOT, NOT, NOT genetic! Get it through your heads! :X Do some damn research before you screw your characters up!

"Experiencing a traumatic event is not rare. About 60% of men and 50% of women experience this type of event in their lives. Women are more likely to experience sexual assault and child sexual abuse. Men are more likely to experience accidents, physical assault, combat, or disaster or to witness death or injury.
But going through a traumatic event doesn't mean you'll get PTSD. About 8% of men and 20% of women develop PTSD after a traumatic event.

Here are some facts:

"In the United States, about 8% of the population will have PTSD symptoms at some point in their lives.
About 5.2 million adults have PTSD during a given year. This is only a small portion of those who have experienced a traumatic event.
Women are more likely than men to develop PTSD. About 10% of women develop PTSD compared with 5% of men
Women are more likely than men to develop PTSD for all types of traumatic events, except sexual assault or abuse. When these traumas occur, men are just as likely as women to get PTSD"

This is referring to PTSD in fictional characters(mainly HTF characters), not real people btw.

Also, I believe that there are a choice FEW that can pull PTSD off without their character looking like a total Flippy-sue.

I don't agree with everything you say.

Sure, in the htf fandom, an oc with PTSD Is fucking ignorant.

But in books, movies and video games, they can make them much more interesting than you think.  I know this because of video games and books.

And wait, people ACTUALLY Give there kids ptsd aswell?

OMG LETS MAKE OUR WHOLE FAMILY SUFFER SOMETHING HORRIBLE
